Penguin penguin...
I didn't know u r so old,
u lived in South America in so cold,
but i know one thing which scientists dont
we have a lost penguin living in pspl alone
Penguin penguin....

Penguin penguin...
I didn't know u r so short,
with just being 2 feet tall,
but the one that I know,
is about 5 feet something,
need to tell the scientists,
about this new discovery.

Penguin Penguin...
We know that u r so old,
You lived in South America in so cold,
Now scientists knew you are alone,
Don't worry they will contact you on phone,
Swati has made a new discovery,
But it is going to be controversy,
Cuz penguin being just 2 feet tall,
But the One 5 feet here is now known to all,
Penguin Penguin...

Penguin Penguin...
Our Penguin plays carom so nicely
he can count upto 4 only
I am telling a secret openly
don't tell anyone it is with Penguin only
Pan parag is number 1
number 2 has only a thin bone
cat walk starts with number 3
our Penguin is still waiting number 4 to become free

Visa power.... go get it!

6:30AM fast local starts from Thane and goes to CST. We (Baba and me)caught it at right time without fail on Thane station. Thank God there was no rain that time.

My interview was scheduled on 15th June at 8:30 AM. One day before we started from Pune and reached Thane by Saihyadri express. After so long probably after 3-4 years I was traveling to Mumbai by train. That reminded me my old days as a child, when we used to travel to Mumbai in train to meet mavashi. We reached there at around 6:45. Sayali came to pick us up and we all went to see mavashi's new house. Ramkaka and mavashi asked me 10-20 questions to see if my preparation is ok. We got up early in the morning at 5:30 since we wanted to catch first train which goes to CST.

Train reached Bhaykhala on time and we had some breakfast in a hotel there. We then reached at visa consulate in taxi. I was there in the queue at 7:15. There was a separate line for the people having appointment at 8:30. I talked to a student who was going to Illinois Chicago.

They called us inside in no time. After some security checks we were allowed to enter inside the main hall. Then we were asked to stand in a queue to submit documents like I20. There all the documents were there which I submitted in Pune consulate office at Soharab hall 15 days back.

Then we were told to stand in a queue to take our finger prints. The man there was a typical American who welcomed me with a smile and wished me, "Good morning Sir!". I also wished him. Then comes the funniest part. I put my thumb on the small glass part of the instrument. I put both index fingers of both the hands. I thought hw would tell me to go ahead. But to my surprise, he could not understand the images on the screen. And he thought there is some problem with my fingers like any wound or something. So he asked me to show my finers to him. I did so. Then he smiled. I asked me if there was any problem. He said no problem and asked me to sit in the passage where all the people were waiting.

My number was 113 and still the numbers which were getting called were not more than 40-50. In 15 minutes my number was called and I was then standing in the queue. There were only 5 people infront of me. A gorgeous lady was taking the interview. Shw was really awesome. I thought the first American lady which I saw just was this good looking then in coming two years how much fun I am going to have. She was very frinedly. She denied one visa but accepted all the other visa requests.

Ahead of the guy who was ifront of me there was a girl. The gorgeous lady called her for interview. And in the middle of the interview another American lady came in her cabin and started chatting with her. I was so desperate to get all the things done and starting becomging impatient. I said in tension "Come on ... just finish it!!". The guy infront of me heard it and smiled at me. He said relax. After that when his turn came I wished him all the bast. He liked that. In a minute or so he came backed and said, "kuch nahi yaar, tera bhi ho jayega" those worded really helped me ease the tension which was building.

Me: Good morning mam.
VO: Give me your token.
I gave it.
VO: Why are you going to US?
Me : To pursue MS in Computer science.
VO : Why this university?
Me : First I liked the course structure and the courses they are providing ...
VO : Who is sponsoring you?
Me : My mother and father both.
VO : How mush funds do you have in bank?
Me : I have blah blah in cash for the first year and for second year bah blah in FDs and others.
VO : How many universities did you apply?
Me : eight.
VO " Ok sir, Your visa is granted and you will receive it in couple of days by courier to your home.
Me : Thanks mam ... thanks a lot.

That was all.

Golden happiness.

"So the situation boils down to "what others think of me". If you don't bother about others, you are 100% at everything and you will be happy. :-) But, if you want to live to others' expectations, you will never be 100% and obviously never be happy."

This is an excerpt from the Dilbert's blog. There is a new funda of life which is quite convincing. Just hit this link:

http://dilbertblog.typepad.com/the_dilbert_blog
/2007/06/golden_happines.html

I think I am quite close to what is mentioned in this blog. Whenever I am trying to be a 'Mr. Perfect', I witnessed some form of deep feeling which asks me "Why? was it really needed?". If I had achieved about 80% of what I did, I would not have lost much. The efforts which I put in to get those extra 20% have taken away much out of me.

Finally, there should be a perfect balance where you must decide which way to go. At last this principle will not work all the times. So, just decide whether you want to be at the top or you just want to achieve 80%. Once it is done and you stick to it, you will certainly be happy at the end.

3-D sound

Came to know about this amazing technology on this Friday.

http://titanmiller.no-ip.org/publog/?p=102

Just listen to the virtual barbershop and you will really thank me. This was a memorable moment in my life. I really jumped up from my chair when I first hear that sound coming from the right ear. Initially I thought that there is someone who is really doing some repairing work at the right hand side of mine. The sound of bag was really weird. Witnessed some really funny expressions and reactions of Aniket. :)

I have downloaded some stuff related to this. I think this will be going to the future of the upcoming movies in this century.

IPv6

I was thinking of writing something on TOEFL exam I gave four months back.. But, thought of writing something on my friends ... friends which I found in my second year of engineering. About people which became very good friends of mine in my engineering career.

I was in second year just transferred from the electronics branch and was looking to make new friends. I was most of the times with Suraj who was with me for the initial period of 1 year or so. I was aware of a group which was always loved and honored by others in the class. This group consisted of 3 brilliant students: Vijay, Vinay and Tushar. I was not in the group initially but later on in the third year project I changed the group and joined this people. Out of these three Vinay is technically very very bright. No one was there to compete him in the race when it comes to technical things. Vijay is clever too also he was one of those few people in a group in general who drive the entire team along with them. Tushar is the one who is shy but a very intelligent guy.

I spent a lot of time with them and I never want to forget it so I will just enumerate it and close this chapter,

1. One funny moment when Bhadkumbe mam sent Dogra out of the class and Dogra was very happy instead of saying sorry to her.

2. I met Tushar for the first time before getting admission to my great college at his home. And he told me to join it bindhass.

3. All those mornings when we used to gather at Tushar's house to play before going to college.

4. We played volleyball on computer in those mornings.

5. Also we became master in 'badam 7' during this period only. We used to have very nice group of around 7- 8 people. All were very great in their game.
Vijay : He used to be one of the losers most of the times.
Tushar : He used to play very good but he was also good at cheating others. I remember the 'Ispic Raja' which I dropped at the end of one game and was caught by him and got a big penalty of 100 points I guess. Also, since I did not want to lose the game, next time I was the one who fooled Chantu and got him a penalty of 100 points.
Tushar's friends: Babli and Mahendra was one of his friends who used to be the part of the group.
Chantu : Satyane khelnara chotuok ;)

6. All those parties followed by the losers ( Usacha ras )

7. All the journals which we completed together.(Tushar, Vinay, Vijay, me, Chantu, Bantu)

8. The places mostly software companies which we visited to find the BE final year's project. And all the funny incidents associated with it. e.g. once we were offered water with a lot of respect when we went to a company, etc.

9. Our picnics to Panshet, Malshej ghat, Saswad's one temple where only male's are allowed to enter ( don't remember the name ;( ),

10. One bitter incidence of stealing of 32 MB RAM from one of the computer's in the lab in final year. That time Vijay was the one who helped in defending.

11. All the time we shared in the college canteen.

12. All the time which we spent in developing the final year's project at Nikhil's cyber cafe. Thanks to Nikhil. We wanted to give him a gift but could not. Don't know where is he... my wishes are with him always.

13. All the LARA matches which I played with Tushar. I remember one match in which runs made where same, number of balls taken were same, 6's and 4's were same and wickets lost were also same. And I was declared as winner because my early run-rate was better then Tushar. Also another match when I scored around 150 runs in just 10 overs.

14. After BE, all these ppl joined some companies and I enrolled my name to CDAC course. In 2004, we met in Esquare to watch a film. I still have the photo in black and white which we took there.

After so many years now after BE, Vijay is in T-Systems, Vinay is in PSPL and Tushar is in Sasken. Tushar got married recently. I will be leaving India and don't know when we all can meet. It's probability is very low and I'll lose another part of my life .... I can't do anything other than recalling these sweet memories.

Turn in life ...

One fine day Vinay asked me if I am going to US to pursue MS ... I was not even thinking of it since I was working in Persistent for last two years and I was quite happy with the life. I was just in a mood of accepting the life as it comes. I was thinking of settling in my life. And suddenly his one question started a new Katrina in my life.

This was about the incident which happened quite 1 year back. I am in the office right now thinking about my future life in US. How am I going to land there? Will I get good friends there? Will I be able to meet the expenses incurred while I will pursue MS there? Will I get into San Jose?

Today I am thinking of giving resignation but I don't know why but it is too difficult for me. I am working for last three years in only one company when all my friends are busy in hoping their jobs. This company gave me name, fame and money. And now I am going to leave this place. Don't know when I will return back to home and if I return, will I work here or not. Now I know how difficult this decision is. I still remember the day (16th December 2003) when I gave my interview in Persistent and got selected. I was calling Aai on phone and found very much proud of myself telling her my starting salary. " aath hajar milale tari accept kar", dada was telling me on the day before the interview and I have got a job with much much bigger salary.

I don't know but, there are lots of turns in your life which really change your life, it can be for betterment or things turn bad too. I don't know where I am heading to. But as Aai said, I am going to take a breath, remember God and then finally click on submit button. Bye bye Persistent.....

A Friday in office..

Just promoted a bug TT22646 and thought of updating this blog. I know that I am quite lazy in writing blogs these days. The last blog I wrote on my birthday in 2006 :0 . But I truely want to continue to write though it's not a fun!

Ok, ok ,,, pulakhalun barach pani vahun gelay :) I applied to 8 universities in total and till now I have got into USF and University of california long bech. All my friends are damn sure that, I will going to long beach cause I am going to US just for fun and the MS is just a reason.

Mixed feelings are what I am experiencing now. I will be going to an alien land leaving behind all my friends and my family. You know what, this is the first time I will be out of the home for so long. I think at least for 1 year, I will not be able to come back to India. On the other hand, I am truly looking forward to land in US. This will be my first journey in plane, this will be my first journey outside mu motherland, in all, I am very excited to take up new challenges.

Oops, it seems my domain password is expired, I need to reboot the pc to reset it.
